Support Phyllis, Lois and Family with Final Expenses
Donation protected
For the last 4 years, my mother has suffered with dementia. When she became a danger to herself and others, I called an adult protection attorney to get court approval to care for her.
So for the last four years, I have worked tirelessly to care for her, to pay bills, and to make sure she lived in a safe, beautiful environment. We visited her, took her birthday gifts and treats, and took her to lunch when we were able to take her out of there. We took her to the hospital when she needed a surgical procedure. My sister Lois and I were her guardians and financially responsible for her care. A week ago, she passed away from multi-organ failure.
During her last two days, I stayed with her in her room 24/7 so she would not be alone when she passed away. Then all of the final expenses and services fell to my responsibility. We just learned that my mother spent all of her funeral 401(k) and did not pay for her final services that she had ordered, and the life insurance went to somebody else who now sees that as an opportunity to benefit financially.
I am asking for help for final expenses and for recovering some of the out-of-pocket costs we've had this last little while to care for my mom. Of course, I'm not asking for nearly all of it, not even half of it. This has been a huge financial burden, and we are asking for the mercy of others to help us get through this time and this expense. Thank you in advance. We appreciate all of you.
