Last Monday our beautiful friend Phoebe was involved in a serious car crash that has changed her life in an instant.

She sustained multiple major injuries including a broken neck and a broken pelvis and remains in hospital as she begins the long road to recovery. The positive news is that there was no spinal cord damage and we are incredibly grateful for that.

I have been lucky enough to race alongside Phoebe for many years and even had the privilege of teaching her in high school. To know her is to know her strength, determination and quiet kindness.

Phoebe is studying to become a teacher and has always had a natural gift for caring for others. She is thoughtful, generous and brings warmth into every room.

Outside of her studies she has been an avid motocross rider and a proud state champion. That resilience she shows on the track is the same resilience she will draw on now.

Recovery will involve ongoing rehabilitation, specialist appointments and full-time care from her mum while she heals and regains her independence. Although hospital treatment is covered, there will be significant ongoing costs including travel to appointments, medical expenses and time away from work.

All funds raised will go directly to Phoebe’s mother, Kathleen Williams, transferred securely through the GoFundMe portal into her bank account. The funds will be used to care for Phoebe, assist with travel and medical costs and help keep the family on their feet during this incredibly testing time. Our immediate goal is to ensure they are covered for at least the first month of recovery so they can focus entirely on Phoebe’s healing.
