Support Phoebe - Help Us Get the Care She Needs
Spende geschützt
Hello! My daughter’s emotional support animal is in an emergency veterinary hospital for neurological issues - likely from severe infection. We got transferred from an ER in Santa Cruz to a neurology specialist in San Francisco. It took us 3 hours to get from Santa Cruz to San Francisco and in that time Phoebe was unconscious because her brain had started to herniate into her brain stem when we arrived. Thank God for San Francisco Animal Medical Center and Dr Toyoda and her team! They were able to revive her and this morning she looks like she has a positive prognosis. Yeah!
The neurology specialist seems optimistic but needs more information to give a full diagnosis. There are more tests and hospital stays ahead of us before we know the course of treatment and the treatment itself.
The costs have grown more than she (we) can afford. Phoebe has been a fighter since we rescued her (losing her for 6 months, fighting another bad infection last year) and every day this week she has scared us and recovered with care each time. Now that we are with the specialist and receiving the care she needs, we want to make sure she gets it. We want to give her the fighting chance she deserves.
Please consider helping.
If you donate, I’ll personally make and send you a TEAM PHOEBE button. Look for an email from me when you donate asking for your address so I can mail it to you.
PS - this cat has helped my daughter through so much. She got her while she was at therapeutic boarding school and has helped her with her depression and anxiety while transitioning back home and to college. She is now in her 2nd year at a UC.
