On January 26th, 2026, my brother Phil received the devastating news that he has liver cancer. It all started back in September when Phil suddenly became very ill at work. He thought it might just be the flu, so he went home early, hoping to recover. But after four days of feeling worse, he finally decided to go to the emergency room. There, doctors ran a series of tests and discovered that Phil had lost three and a half quarts of blood. They also diagnosed him with cirrhosis of the liver, which was shocking since Phil stopped drinking in 2000.

Phil is someone who has always been independent and hates asking for help, but right now, he truly needs it. Since his emergency room visit, he has only been able to work two or three days and has spent many days feeling too ill to do much at all. The medical bills and everyday expenses have started piling up, and it’s become overwhelming for him.

I am reaching out on Phil’s behalf because I want him to be able to focus on getting well and fighting this battle without the added stress of financial worries.
