Help My Mom and Brothers Stay Safe and Off the Street
Hi,
My name is Phil, and I’m fundraising for my mom and two younger brothers, who are currently homeless in Southern California. They’ve been living out of a car and using what little money they earn each day driving for DoorDash and Uber to afford nightly motel rooms. A few days ago, their car was repossessed, cutting off their only form of shelter, income, and mobility. Despite doing everything she could to keep up with the payments, it became impossible while trying to afford daily motel stays and basic necessities.
This has quickly become a full-blown emergency. Without the car, they are facing the very real possibility of sleeping rough on the street within days.
To make matters worse, my mom has multiple sclerosis. Her health is already fragile, and living outdoors without access to proper rest, hygiene, or medication is dangerous and could lead to permanent damage or hospitalization. She’s been doing everything she can to hold our family together, but right now she’s running out of options.
• Get them into a stable motel or temporary housing for the next couple of weeks
• Replace the car or find another way for them to earn money again
• Keep their phones on so they can stay connected and access services
• Cover basic needs like food, hygiene, and gas
My mom has been doing everything she can to hold our family together. She recently left a long, abusive marriage and had hoped that a divorce settlement would give her the chance to rebuild. That money still hasn’t come through, and right now, they’re out of options.
Anything helps. $5, $10, a share, anything. We’re in a tight spot and need help getting through this immediate crisis.
Thank you so much.
-Phil
