Support Philip, Leslie & Family's Healing Journey

This past week, our family’s world changed overnight. My brother-in-law Philip, a devoted husband to Leslie and a loving father to their twin children, Abbie and Judah, underwent multiple surgeries to remove tumors from his spine. What was expected to be a difficult—but hopeful—procedure turned into a medical emergency no one could have prepared for. Following his first spinal surgery, Philip suffered a spinal stroke caused by a hematoma and excessive bleeding. He required an emergency procedure and is currently in the ICU. As a result of these complications, Philip has lost sensation from his upper abdomen down. Doctors are carefully managing significant swelling and are maintaining elevated blood pressure to ensure proper blood flow and perfusion to his brain. And this is not the end of his medical journey. Philip is also facing a brain tumor mass removal surgery, expected to take place within the next month and a half. Between now and then, he has a long, uncertain road of recovery, intensive physical therapy, and medical care ahead.

Beyond the hospital walls, there is another reality setting in. When Philip is able to come home, significant home modifications will be required—many of which are not covered by insurance—to make it possible for him to safely begin rehabilitation and regain independence. The physical, emotional, and financial weight of this season is immense. Philip and Leslie are the kind of people who quietly serve others. They are deeply involved in their church and community, always showing up, always giving, always loving well. Anyone who knows them knows their kindness, humility, and faith. They would never ask for help—but right now, they truly need it.

This season has been filled with fear, uncertainty, and hard decisions—but also with hope. We believe in the power of community. We believe God continues to show His love through people. And we believe that healing—physical, emotional, and spiritual—is possible. If you feel led to support Philip, Leslie, Abbie, and Judah—whether through a donation, sharing this page, or lifting them up in prayer—please know it means more than words can express. Every gift helps provide a way forward during a season that feels overwhelming. Thank you for standing with them. Thank you for being part of their story. And thank you for helping remind this family that they are not walking this road alone.
