Phillip Bloom Fund
Our family has known Philip for nearly 30 years — my son Jake and he have been close friends since kindergarten, growing up together through all their formative years. Philip has always been like family to us, which makes supporting him through this journey deeply personal.
Philip Bloom, 38, is a devoted husband, father, and lifelong music lover whose life changed forever after a devastating car accident on December 26, 2009. The crash left him paralyzed from the waist down and fighting for his life through multiple surgeries, a 10-day coma, and months of rehab.
Despite everything, Philip rebuilt his life — managing musicians, joining his father’s commercial real estate business, and marrying his wife Rachel, a dedicated Alaska Airlines flight attendant. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Ella, in October 2023.
Philip also found purpose in adaptive sports, joining the LA Kings’ sledge hockey team. But two years ago, a hockey-related injury became infected, leading to a chronic bone infection that has left him bedridden since 2023. After a failed surgery and ongoing hospitalizations, he’s now approved for a complex, multi-stage surgery at Cedars-Sinai that could finally allow him to heal — a process expected to take a year or more.
Your contribution will immensely relieve the financial burden on Philip, Rachel, and baby Ella as they navigate this long road to recovery, covering medical expenses and lost income. With your help Philip can focus on healing and reclaiming his role as an active dad and husband.
