Our church confirmation class has been tasked with raising awareness and funds to support a local organization or ministry striving to eliminate food insecurity. We chose Philabundance, whose mission is to fight hunger for members of the community living in poverty and permanently remove hunger from people's lives. They accomplish this by preparing, receiving, and distributing food in the Philadelphia community. From 2022-2023, they redistributed 16.7 million pounds of food.

The work of this organization resonates with the theme of hospitality and compassion that we have been exploring throughout our confirmation journey. We believe Philabundance is living out those values by distributing food to meet the needs of people in the Philadelphia area.

Our church (Westminster Presbyterian Church) has committed to matching up to $500 of whatever funds we raise. Please help reach our goal!
