Phil Tolle was the kind of friend who always showed up when you needed him most. Whether it was pouring a concrete patio, helping someone build a tiny home, making a homemade meal for a friend in need, or just lending an ear, Phil was there, no questions asked. When we were all growing up skateboarding in Marysville, he was always the one to make us laugh and bring everyone together. He was quick with words, whether it be a joke or his innate talent for freestyle rapping. But his skill went far beyond his gift of gab, for he had a knack for building or fixing just about anything. While his prowess made him unforgettable, it was his kindness and generosity that truly set him apart.

Phil recently celebrated his 38th birthday, and his passing was completely unexpected. He cared deeply for his parents, Brenda and Marc, and was always there to help them. He also held a special place in his heart for his grandma. Above all, Phil did everything he could to ensure his family was taken care of. His loss leaves a huge hole in the lives of everyone who knew him, especially his parents and his sister Val, who now face not only the heartbreak of losing their son but also the financial burden of funeral expenses and the loss of any ongoing support.

Everyone has a story about Phil and something he gave you or did for you, whether it was a bite to eat, fixing a broken hinge, making you laugh, or offering a dollar for landing a skateboard trick. Phil showed up for his community, and now it's our turn to show up for him and his family. Brenda and Marc were always there for Phil and his friends, and this is our opportunity to give back.
