Support Phi Tran's Brain Bleed Recovery
Donation protected

Hi, this is Jenny Nguyen. I don’t personally like to put my personal life out there, nor do I like asking for help, but tough times be going.
My fiancé and partner of 9 years, Phi Tran, was admitted to the hospital on November 16, 2024, for a severe headache which turned out to be a brain bleed in his ventricles. He had to receive an immediate procedure to drain out the bleeding and is now recovering.
The source of the bleed was found in the ventricles, but the cause is still not found. Further routine CT and MRI will be done to figure out the cause, and hopefully, we can figure it out from there.
Per his neurosurgeon and neurologist, he is expected to be hospitalized for 2 weeks with a drainage tube in his brain to monitor the progress and hopefully see recovery.
After hospitalization, he is expected to have a 1-2 month recovery period.
Phi is loved very dearly by his friends, family, loved ones, and our 6 cats. I really hope that he can make a swift recovery and return to us in great health.
The reason for this page is to help with monthly bills, living expenses, and medical expenses and post-recovery as I figure out my day-to-day with all of this as we go.
I greatly appreciate anything. Thank you a lot.
We also have Zelle to either of our phone numbers Phi’s or mine’s (Jenny)
*** Update 11/19/2024 ***
After having an MRI angiogram Phi is diagnosed with MoyaMoya. It is a RARE DISEASE of narrowing arteries in the brain. This causes constriction and blocks blood flow. About 1 in 1 million are affected. This is something that he will have for the rest of his life. We do not know the severity of it yet but I will update it as we go.
***Update 11/26/2024***
Drainage looks good and Phi is scheduled for a CT scan to see if he is cleared to remove the drainage tube and move his focus to Physical Therapy to recovery to hopefully go home.
Long term intervention has not been discussed yet.
