Hello, my beautiful cat Pharoah recently started showing signs that something wasn’t quite right, so I brought him to the vet. While many of the tests came back showing he’s otherwise healthy, we unfortunately discovered a cancerous mass. So far, I’ve spent $695 on testing. The next steps are crucial: surgery to remove the mass, which costs $1,055, and an ultrasound to ensure it hasn’t spread, which is an additional $609.

This has come at an incredibly difficult time. I’m a full-time graduate student pursuing a degree in clinical social work so I can dedicate my career to supporting others and their mental health. Right now, I’m living on a mix of savings, small scholarships, and student loans, and these unexpected medical costs are more than I can manage alone.
