Hi everyone,

I never thought I would be in a position to ask for help like this, but here it goes: I am currently a student at the University of Washington School of Law, working toward a future of helping and advocating for others. Like many on this path, I’ve struggled to balance the high expectations imposed by others as well as myself. Also like many others, I’ve struggled with living with numerous invisible disabilities, both psychological as well as physical. This month I hit my breaking point and experienced a mental health crisis. Friends, I need help.

At this point I must take a leave of absence from law school and will be required to return all of my financial aid for the quarter. This is not something that my family nor I can afford, and so I humbly ask for your support to get me and my wife Jenn through the next few months. My medical costs and living expenses have become astronomical, and Jenn and I can no longer make it without help from others. This journey has not been easy, but I’m committed to healing and continuing my education once I’m in a stable place to do so. Many people have reached out and asked how they can help. This is how.

Jenn and I will never be able to repay the sympathy and emotional support that the community has already offered us, but I hope that with your financial support I will be able to reach a stable place where I can continue my journey to become an attorney and advocate for others in the future.
