Hello All,
Petri here. The 2026 Sprint Kayaking season has started off with a bang! A few weeks ago, my brother Zachary and I made the drive down to Chula Vista, CA, to compete in the United States Sprint Kayaking National Team Trials April 16th and 17th. The competition was the highest it's ever been in the United States, as we push to secure quota spots for the upcoming LA 2028 Olympics. This year's trials was my most successful for me to date, as I qualified for all of the individual finals for the first time in the open division. I am happy to announce that with my results I have been officially selected to represent the United States in the 2026 Under-23 World Championships! The event will take place in Halifax, Canada, from July 1st to July 5th of this year.
In order to prepare myself for this competition, I will be spending 2-3 weeks training with the United States National Team in Chula Vista California, in early June.
As many of you are aware, in order to compete and train at the highest level in this sport, I need financial support for flights, boat transportation costs, housing, food, and many more. I have always been able to count on my community for this support, and I am incredibly grateful for their continued support!
If you are interested in supporting my extensive season of training and racing for team USA as I look to be a part of the field trying for Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, please consider donating to my fundraising page and spreading my story.
Thank you for your support!
Petri
