Elpidio Tellez (Petey), my brother, and Therek Romo, his partner, were involved in a devastating accident when they were t-boned by a drunk driver at extremely high speed. Therek sustained minor injuries and spent two days in the hospital. He will need physical therapy and will be out of work for a month as he recovers. Petey, however, is facing a much more difficult journey. He is currently in the hospital, fighting to come out of a coma after suffering a severe brain injury. His recovery will require weeks to months in the hospital, and he may need to recover at a care facility after his hospital stay. He will be unable to work for a long time.

Petey has always been incredibly gifted and talented, with a bright future ahead of him. He was studying for the MCAT and applying to medical schools, with plans to become a surgeon. His dedication and passion for helping others have inspired everyone around him. Now, his dreams are on hold as he focuses on healing and recovery.

The financial strain is overwhelming. Both Petey and Therek are unable to work, and the costs of medical bills, therapy, possible care facility expenses, and basic living needs are mounting. Our family is doing everything we can to support them, but we need help to ensure they have what they need during this difficult time.
