Hi, my name is Peter (I also go by PK) and in just a few weeks, I’ll be having three different procedures done to my spine in order to address a herniated disc and spinal stenosis caused by a lifelong spinal disability that I’ve struggled with. In the past, I tended to downplay my condition and avoided using my cane more than needed. But after dealing with over a decade of chronic pain that has recently become debilitating to the point of being left unable to work or even walk, I knew it was time to be more transparent about it.

On Mother’s Day, I landed myself in the ER due to a flare-up of pain worse than I can recall. The ER determined the herniated disc has worsened, causing sciatica and damaging the nerves in my leg which has led to me losing a majority of feeling in my right leg and being unable to walk without a cane. After working with several doctors and getting lots of MRIs and tests done, the determination was made that the next course of action is surgical. This surgery should stop the rapidly increasing severity of pain and numbness in my back and legs and hopefully prevent the loss of sensation and feeling from becoming permanent.

Any donations sent will be going directly towards my current medical and ER bills and the cost of the surgery itself. Any additional is going to be used to help my post-surgery recovery, mainly my physical therapy and rehabilitation.
