After a successful career as a Claims Specialist within the professional medical liability sector, Peter moved permanently to Tijuana, Mexico with his family to join a non-profit organization that trains people to help communities in culturally appropriate and meaningful ways.
On January 5, 2026, while visiting friends and family, Peter suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. He was rushed to Glendale Memorial Hospital, where doctors performed an emergency craniotomy to relieve pressure in his brain. Thanks to the swift actions of his wife Sandy and the medical team, Peter survived this critical ordeal, but his journey is far from over.
Peter faces significant challenges. The stroke has affected mobility on the left side of the body, his speech, and he continues to experience various physical deficiencies. The long road ahead includes intensive physical and occupational rehabilitation, speech therapy, and ongoing care.
Here is how your generosity can help Peter:
Medical costs: Having permanently moved to Mexico, Peter did not have traditional health insurance at the time of the stroke. Currently, he is considered a cash patient and will have upfront costs for the hospital stay, diagnostic tests, surgical and specialist fees among many more to come.
Housing: The location of Peter's long-term and follow up care is uncertain and short-term rental accommodation or an Airbnb may be necessary to stay close to Peter’s treatment.
Transportation: Two of Peter’s children are currently attending UCLA and UC San Diego. Transportation is needed for both for them to visit and for Peter’s future medical appointments.
Food: Sandy relies on dining out or meal delivery, as she is far from home and unable to cook easily.
The family is deeply grateful for the incredible outpouring of support during this time. Your prayers, generous offers of help, and every act of kindness have truly touched their hearts.
Peter has always been one to serve others and has affected the lives of so many. We know Peter is strong, resilient, and with the grace of God, he will overcome this challenge. Thank you for sharing Peter’s story with others and extending this circle of care even further—it means more than words can express.
