My name is Angelena Naer. I have started this for my Father (Peter Naer) who is battling stage 3 lung cancer.
My father has been a single parent since I was 7 (now 22) years old and my twin brother and sister were 4 (now 18). Growing up, my father was like Superman. He worked full-time, was heavily involved in the church and local ministry, cleaned, helped with homework, and even made time for fun adventures (like the lake, bike riding, hiking, and river walking).
About 2 years ago, my father collapsed out of the blue. He had all types of tests and work done, but the root cause was never clearly defined. Then in February, after collapsing again, they found a tumor on his right lung. They biopsied it and determined he had stage 3 cancer. They even went back and realized they missed it a year ago.
He started his journey in February of 2025 and was bedridden until July. Watching this man who never sits still, confined to his chair or bed, was heartbreaking. No smile, no jokes, trying to put on a brave face but not being able to hide it all. Not being physically able to work (he tried and that was even harder to watch). Closing his company which he built on his own. My father has worked for himself always ("need the freedom to be there for my kids") he would always say.
Peter is the sole provider for the naer family including 1 daughter in college and twins, who just graduated now starting there next chapters. This fight has created a overwhelming financial strain. With Peter being unable to work , monthly expenses and medical expenses ahead this family needs support now.
My father is one of the proudest people I've ever known. Him asking for help, well let's put it this way. He could be bleeding, missing a finger, and still say "I'm fine, it's nothing, don't worry"......
