Support Peter Hord's Final Journey

Donation protected
Shockingly, my twin brother, Peter Hord, passed away on Easter Sunday from an unforeseen medical condition. After driving himself from work to the emergency room, he was hospitalized and operated on. But one complication after another became too much despite the hospital's maximum efforts to save him. He eventually had a heart attack and passed away.

Peter really loved working at the Tuscany Casino in Las Vegas as a maintenance engineer. He developed a lot of friendships and experiences. Several members of the staff have contacted me and have been very gracious. They told me he will be missed for his work ethic and unusual sense of humor. He loved the Nevada outdoors and was always far into the mountains every chance he had. He was an artist, a fledgling sports writer, an excellent archer, and a fantastic brother.

His body is currently in Las Vegas, and I have to get him back home to California. He wanted to be buried near his family and I plan to make that happen. I want to give Pete the celebration of life he truly deserves — one that honors his memory and brings comfort to everyone who loved him. I had the painful job of driving out to Vegas and retrieving his personal effects and closing out his personal affairs out there. You have to resist looking at pictures, Art, personal effects, and reading his diary and just get the job done.

I have returned home and made all the arrangements but now realize I don't have enough available resources to complete the whole process. He has a small life insurance policy from his company, but it looks like I can't get it unless I probate it along with his other personal assets. Even though it's a simple estate and I am the sole heir, it may take months to accomplish in Nevada.

I am humbly asking for your support to help cover:
  • Burial or cremation fees
  • Funeral service costs
  • Memorial arrangements
  • Any remaining medical or end-of-life expenses

No contribution is too small — every contribution helps lighten the load and brings us one step closer to properly saying goodbye. If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign would mean the world to us.

Thank you for your compassion, your generosity, and your support during this incredibly difficult time.

With love and gratitude,

Nick
