ALS in-home healthcare for Pete Badger
Donation protected
After battling ALS for seven years, Peter Badger has lost all mobility and requires intensive in-home care totaling $10,000/month in out-of-pocket expenses, as health insurance coverage does not cover many costs. His wife, Pam, and son, Chris, rely on various specialty caretakers such as full-time, in-home nurses, speech therapists and occupational therapists.
During the season of giving, we ask for your financial support to ensure that Pete can continue receiving the care he deserves to continue fighting ALS. We will use funds raised to pay for healthcare costs not covered by insurance.
We thank you in advance for your donations, prayers and positive thoughts.
Pete’s story
In 2015, Pete was diagnosed with ALS, after undergoing cancer treatment and a hip replacement within the same year.
Pete is a lifelong baseball fan and a Red Sox supporter. One of his heroes is baseball legend Lou Gehrig, who was diagnosed with this rare unknown disease in the 1930s. While honored at Yankee Stadium, Gehrig famously said, "Fans, for the past two weeks, you have been reading about a bad break I got. Yet today I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth."
Pete's attitude is similarly resilient. Despite physical limitations, Pete has refused to let the disease affect his will and determination to make the best of his time with family and friends. Pete is a fighter, and we won’t stop fighting for him.
