I've created this GoFundMe at the community's request to help Pete, a 58-year-old disabled individual with a dog. You may have seen his horror story on CBS12 news. He's been homeless with his dog for two years while waiting to be approved for disability. He's finally been approved, but now he waits more. Recently, he was attacked by another homeless individual, much younger than himself. That individual kicked Pete's dog repeatedly and screamed he was going to kill him and the dog. Pete keeps to himself, doesn't partake in drugs or alcohol. He's not your normal 'homeless' guy.

He worked his whole life until his body gave out from the hard labor. We recently were able to gather supplies for Pete and Sim, but he needs housing for a couple of months until his disability payments kick in.

At first, our goal was to make him comfortable at his camp, but with the recent incident, we fear for his safety.

We are trying to gather enough money to pay a few months' rent for him and Sim to stay in an efficiency or private room.

I understand times are tough for everyone these days, but if you can help, please do.

All donations are welcomed. I don't know him very well, but from the numerous conversations we've exchanged, he seems like a very positive guy just down on his luck.
