Our friend and co-worker Perry is facing mounting bills and future expenses from an unexpected hospitalization. He has recently been discharged home after receiving critical surgery and is unable to return to work just yet. Perry works at a small neighborhood bar and carry-out with no sick leave or FMLA coverage. Perry is a familiar face in our community for anyone who needs snacks or drinks on their way to work or help on their way home with finding the perfect craft beers or a nice bottle of wine. He is a quiet, steady presence that we are missing from our usual routines. Perry has persevered through tough circumstances before and only shortly before becoming ill had just moved into his own apartment. We know with some support this will be just a detour from the path he has been on and that many better days are ahead.
