Help 14-Year-Old Perla Salazar Recover After a Horrific Car Crash
On July 5th, my 14-year-old sister, Perla Salazar, was the victim of a terrifying and life-altering event. The story is still very fresh and being unfolded. It is currently being investigated by police. While in this unimaginable situation, their vehicle crashed — and Perla, who was sitting in the front passenger seat where the impact hit hardest, suffered the most severe injuries.
Perla’s injuries are extensive and life-threatening. She is currently hospitalized at Intermountain Hospital with:
Traumatic brain damage
4 broken ribs on each side
Broken shoulder blades
A broken knee
Severe spinal injuries
At just 14 years old, Perla is now facing a long, uncertain journey toward recovery. She has already undergone intensive medical treatments and will need multiple surgeries, physical therapy, and long-term rehabilitation just to regain basic mobility and function.
Our family is doing everything we can to stay strong for Perla, but the financial and emotional toll is overwhelming.
Perla is a bright, kind-hearted girl who has her whole life ahead of her. She didn’t deserve what happened — and right now, she needs every bit of support and love we can offer.
Please consider donating, sharing her story, or simply keeping Perla in your prayers. Every contribution — no matter the size — brings us one step closer to helping her heal and move forward.
Thank you for standing with Perla and our family in this heartbreaking time.
