—Latest Update—
It is with heavy heart that I report that Percy was put to rest yesterday at 7pm.

We still need help paying off his bills, but I understand if this result puts future potential donors off. However if you do have it in your heart to help, I would be eternally grateful.

After a peaceful two days at home, Percy’s condition changed. He no longer wanted to eat and would take little sips to appease my worry, but he was slightly more lethargic than the previous days. His legs also felt slightly cooler and in pain when I moved them, so I decided to rush him back to ACCESS Pasadena. For his readmission, they charged me $5729.

The current doctor on call decided to test Percy for feline leukemia, a test which the previous doctors failed to run. It turns out he was positive, despite being negative when I tested him at the vet 8 months ago. Because he was already started on blood thinners, it became impossible to take any tissue samples to help guide his treatment, and the prognosis for saddle thrombus with this disease was not favorable. Thus with heavy heart, I decided to let him go. They did refund us $4203 for the second visit, but the rest ($1516) was still billed. I know this was not the outcome we would all hope for, and I’m sorry it couldn’t end in a happier way.

Thank you everyone once again. Percy and I send you all our love and gratitude for your support in this trying time. He would push into all of your hands gratefully if he could because he is the best boy who loves everyone with all the might his body can muster, even the veterinary staff who poked and prodded him. Take care of yourselves and each other and never forget to cherish the time you have.

Hi, I’m Tiffany. I took in my food-loving, adorable, and lovable cat, Percy, from off the streets last summer. He got fixed, shots, and bloodwork done, and was estimated to be about 1.5 years old and in otherwise good health. He’s been so energetic, chatty, and a general terror about food that we never imagined his health would suddenly be in peril.

Right now, he’s in the ER getting treatment for saddle thrombus. The estimate for his treatment so far is between $7.9k - $13k for his next two days of treatment, not including further medications or treatments he may need. I’m currently unemployed, don’t have enough in savings, and seeking help from family, but money is also tight on their end. Please, anything you can contribute to help would be greatly appreciated.

Currently, this money would be going towards the hospitalization, tests, and medication he needs while in the ER.
After that, they’d be going towards his care supplies (cat crate to ensure his safety, pee pads, etc.) that he may need for his condition after his discharge.
