Support Pepper's Critical Care Journey

On Thursday, March 13, my daughter Ashley came home to find her beloved pup, Pepper, weak and unresponsive. After two urgent vet visits, the initial diagnosis pointed to a viral infection, and Ashley was advised to let it run its course. However, Pepper’s condition worsened rapidly.

By Friday, March 14, Pepper’s breathing became labored, and she was rushed to Ohio State Emergency Veterinary Hospital. She was immediately admitted to the ICU. Despite receiving antibiotics for suspected pneumonia, she has not yet responded to treatment. Given that one of her littermates was diagnosed with Canine IMPA—an autoimmune disease—Pepper is now undergoing testing to determine if she may be suffering from the same condition. Additional bloodwork is also required to explore other possible causes of her critical condition.

Ashley is doing everything she can to give Pepper the best chance at recovery, but the mounting veterinary costs are overwhelming. We are reaching out for support to help ease the financial burden and ensure Pepper continues to receive the lifesaving care she desperately needs.
