Within the past couple of years, our Pepe has faced tremendous health challenges. While living with our Nana, he suffered three strokes that changed his life and our family’s lives forever. Despite his resilience, his health has continued to decline, and he has needed more care than we can provide at home.

Currently, Pepe is in a nursing home — but sadly, his experience there has been a nightmare. Most recently, he had a fall that left him with such severe injuries that pebbles had to be taken out of his head. Seeing him go through this has been heartbreaking, and it’s clear that he needs to be somewhere safer and closer to those who love him.

Why We’re Asking for Help

This journey has come with many costs:

• Hospital fees from his fall and ongoing medical needs

• Moving costs to transfer him into a better home (we have to private pay for 1 month which can be a max of 10,000)

• Legal costs involved in making the move possible and ensuring his care

Our goal is to bring Pepe to Rhode Island, where he can be closer to family and finally have the comfort, safety, and dignity he deserves.
