Support Penny's Recovery and Independence

Penny Pederson suffered a serious fall three weeks ago. She fell 15 feet off a ladder, breaking her femur, her pelvis and the radius and ulna in her arm. She has been in Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, and is currently working hard in the Inpatient Rehab facility. After enduring three surgeries, placing rods in her femur, three screws in her pelvis, and a plate in her wrist, she will be limited to a wheelchair for 12 weeks to let her body heal. If you know Penny, she is extremely independent and it's against every fiber of her being to ask for help. But because she has not completed a full year at her new accounting job, they can not cover any FMLA leave. She has a significant deductible and no income while she is out of work.

Living alone, Penny will also need meals, errands run, and some rides to appointments. If you can help with any of these things, please let her know. She is reluctantly learning to accept help, because she has to.
