Meet Penny! My beloved Australian shepherd pooch. Penny found me a year ago and claimed my home as her own and my son and my family have cherished her ever since. Recently we had a really bad dog attack that left her with wounds that are severe on her neck and front paw that are requiring a lot of medical attention that are really pricey and I am unable to pay for these. This dog attack also left me and my sister with several dog bite marks on us as well, we filed a police report and a animal control report as well and nothing was done about the animal or the horrible behavior of the owner. We have had numerous threats from the owner and the behavior from him
has been very overwhelming…..I have been to multiple emergency vet visits and she has already had a three hour long surgery to try and save the paw at this time. I just need some help to save my baby and to help with some of these medical bills. I want to try and save her paw and not have to go down the road of amputation if we can help it,but if I can’t afford the debridement treatments then we will have to be forced to do the inevitable. This will crush Penny’s spirit truly. My son and I love this dog so very much. I have researched several grant agencies too and am trying to find local outlets for help. Please if you’re able to help I’m begging and I don’t normally do this. Thank you for your time.
UPDATE FOR PENNY:We have gone to UF Health Shands veterinary hospital and they had to amputate Pennys entire leg at this time. This is a high cost surgery and big risk surgery as it was infected and could cause complications. I have now incurred more costs and anguish from all of this. My fur baby has a lot of follow ups and heeling ahead of her please help me help her the best that I can. As of now we are home she is doing well after a surgery that was very very long we were there from 7am until 630pm tonight 6/8/24…… this has been such a heart wrenching experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone that has a fur baby they love and cherish with all their heart. I now have a very traumatized 10 year old as well due to this and having to explain to him that Penny will have to be cared for for a few weeks very differently is a daunting task as well. We just need and want what is best for her and to get her heeled and seen by her primary vet moving forward and try to avoid any more emergency vet visits and to be left in peace but these things are and have been costly and I am at my last few resources on being able to pay for them and all of the other daily living bills. Please if you’re able to help us please do even if it is just a share!
