Support Penny on her fight against Cancer
Donation protected
Hello, everyone. Thank you in advance for taking the time to hear my story.
My name is Penny Aparicio, and I am asking for your help in helping me pay medical bills that I incurred from an emergency hospital stay with no insurance. I now have insurance.
I have had stomach issues for a while and thought it was food sensitivities to dairy or a problem with my hernias. I went to the ER at the beginning of October and was diagnosed with pancreatitis and gallbladder stones. Some of the stones had passed and were lodged in the bile duct. At first, they were concerned that I would need to be transferred to Seattle, but a surgeon in Yakima said she could do the surgery. Fast forward to post-op, they thought everything would get better, but two weeks later at my follow-up, I was told that they found cancer in my gallbladder. I did not have insurance, so I applied for financial aid and was told that my husband and I made too much money, and they could not help us. I was referred to UW oncology and was told they could not see me without insurance or a way to pay for care. I applied for insurance, but it would not take effect until 1/1/25. They ordered labs and CTs along with telemeds that just kept adding to my medical debt. I have insurance now, but my deductible is $6,000 before they pay anything. I am now seeing an oncologist and will be starting chemotherapy. Not sure what to expect, but knowing that my God has a plan for me. This is not the way I would normally ask for help, but I feel very overwhelmed. My debt to date is $53,000.
Thank you in advance for your contribution. You have no idea how much it means to me to have your support and prayers.
Your donation will go directly to pay off these medical bills while I do my chemotherapy treatment.
Thank you again!
Sincerely,
Penny Aparicio
