My name is Maelynn Dubois, and I am the daughter of Penny Richter. Yesterday, March 30, 2026, my mother watched as the home she spent a lifetime building was destroyed by fire.
My mother is a survivor. As a single mother, she raised seven children on her own with no help. When I was a kid, she worked three jobs at a time to put food on our table and save every penny she could. Because of that incredible grind and sacrifice, she was finally able to buy the home she lived in—a place that was her sanctuary and her pride.
Even though she no longer works three jobs, she has never stopped working for others. Every single day, using her own money and her own heart, my mother feeds the homeless. She didn't just provide a roof for her seven kids; she provided hope for anyone in the community who was struggling. Her door was always open, her kitchen was always warm, and she would truly give the shirt off her back to anyone in need.
Now, the woman who spent her life building a home for us and feeding the hungry has lost everything. The house she worked so hard to own is gone, and she is starting over with nothing but the clothes she was wearing.
We are asking for the community’s help to get this hero back on her feet. Your donations will go toward:
Immediate emergency housing (she is currently in a temporary Airbnb).
Replacing essentials like clothing, shoes, and medication.
Rebuilding her life so she can eventually get back to her mission of taking care of those who have no one else.
Penny has spent her life being the safety net for everyone else. Let’s show her that she isn’t standing alone in the ashes.
Thank you for any donation, prayer, or share you can provide.
