Hey everyone! We’re Penn Dhamaka - a competitive all-male dance team that was first established in 2001. This year, we celebrate 25 years of spreading our passion for dance, entertainment, and the cultures of South Asia to people across the country, while also developing a brotherhood that has connected the community for over two decades.
We're also excited to share that we’ve officially qualified for the Legends National Dance Championship on April 18th, 2026. This season, we’ve been fortunate to place 1st at ATL Tamasha, 2nd at Legacy on Broad here in Philadelphia, and 1st at Tufaan — putting us at #2 in the nation heading into finals.
As students who grew up watching Bill Nye, we wanted to bring that same classroom energy back to the stage. He was one of the first people who made science — especially topics like climate change — feel real and urgent, and that message has stayed with us. Years later, it’s still a persistent issue, and through this set, we’re trying to reflect that in a way that’s both engaging and meaningful. We’re also proud to support the Sunrise Movement, with 25% of proceeds going toward their climate advocacy work. We hope you’ll join us in this mission and help us #SaveDhaWorld.
Traveling and participating in competitions, especially those requiring cross-country travel, can be expensive. With that in mind, we are asking for your support and aim to raise $15,000. Support from our community has made our seasons possible year after year, and we truly appreciate donations of any size.
Your support has fueled some incredible seasons of dance this season, and we encourage you to see how we've progressed:
Again, any contribution - regardless of size - has a huge impact on reducing our financial burden. If you are unable to donate, even sharing our fundraiser makes a huge difference. Thank you so much for your support and generosity, both on stage and off!
