On Sunday, June 29, 2025, Stefanía and Corey welcomed their beautiful daughter, Penelope Sofia.

Born at just 25 weeks gestation and weighing 1 lb 14 oz, Penelope is currently in the skillful hands of the NICU team at Levine Children’s Hospital, where she will continue to grow and gain strength over the coming months.

Her preterm arrival has required Corey’s and Stefanía’s attention round the clock. It is expected that after her approximate 3 month stay at the hospital she will continue to need special support.

This unexpected but welcomed arrival has caused some strains on the new family. In particular, income and unexpected expenses due to taking time off.

Both Stefania and Corey are known for advocating for others whether it’s immigrants’ right or housing stability. As they navigate this new chapter of parenthood with baby Penelope, they are asking their community’s support.
