I'm raising this fundraiser for my friends at PelleRanch, a married couple who run a small dog boarding business. Their boarding facility has been operating out of an air-conditioned barn at their home with only a few kennels, and now they are being forced to close their doors by October 6th because of county licensing issues. They were originally told they were in the clear to start the business in February, but after a mishap with paperwork, everything changed.
I attended a county meeting with them this past Tuesday and watched them face bullying from council members as well as false allegations from a few neighbors. On top of losing their business, they are now being pushed to move out of their home almost immediately after the closure. This is not just the loss of a business. It is the loss of their only current income at the same time their family is being uprooted.
PelleRanch is run by a husband and wife who are doing everything they can for their family. One spouse is a disabled veteran whose condition limits what kind of work is possible, which made this boarding business such a good fit. They also have two children, and with one more on the way, the wife has been battling severe nausea during this pregnancy while carrying all of this added stress.
The funds raised here will help first with moving costs and basic support as they get through the immediate loss of income and work to sell their home. My hope is that this support will help them make it through this incredibly difficult transition and begin rebuilding their lives once things settle down.
If you are able to give, please consider supporting PelleRanch and this family before October 6th. Any donation or share would mean so much as they face the closing of their business, the loss of income, and a sudden move all at once.
