Support Peggy Sisouvong's Fight Against Sarcoidosis
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Peggy Sisouvong, also known as DJ Emoji Heap. I’m a local transgender artist in urgent need of support as I navigate the challenges of living with a chronic illness and disability.
I’ve been battling sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease where the body forms clusters of inflammatory cells, primarily affecting organs like the lungs, skin, and heart. While many cases of sarcoidosis go into remission, my condition has persisted for over four years, causing severe damage to my organs and leaving me in constant pain.
My symptoms have worsened significantly, and I now endure:
Incredible joint pain that makes basic movements excruciating.
Migraines at a 10/10 pain level that persist all day.
Complete fatigue that makes it nearly impossible to stay awake or function.
Difficulty breathing, which impacts my ability to do even the simplest tasks.
Despite my efforts to push through and work two jobs, my health has reached a critical point. When I’m not working, I’m bedridden, overwhelmed by pain that feels unbearable. No treatments have been effective so far, and I am currently undergoing tests to determine the full extent of the organ damage caused by this disease.
In my journey toward healing, I’ve made significant lifestyle changes, including living sober, maintaining a healthy diet, and staying active at the gym. While these steps are helping, I am still battling these debilitating symptoms every day.
Recently, my employer has had to reduce my hours drastically due to my physical limitations, leaving me with a significant loss of income. Even with their support, I face immense challenges in covering my living expenses, medical debt, and the cost of physical therapy.
I’m reaching out to my community for help during this difficult time. My goal is to raise at least $5,000 in mutual aid to alleviate the financial and emotional pressures of surviving while I pursue additional medical tests, treatments, and healing.
This situation truly feels like life or death, and I am determined to keep fighting. If you are able to contribute, any amount would mean the world to me. If you’re unable to donate, please share this post to help spread the word.
