Hello everyone, my name is Nick Mercado. Currently, my mom, Peggy Mercado, is in the ICU in Oconee, South Carolina. On Tuesday, July 1st, at 5 am, she suffered a severe asthma attack. After a breathing treatment, things didn't get any better, so we called emergency services. She ended up having a cardiac arrest within minutes. I gave her CPR until EMS arrived, and we got her heart back. She was rushed to the hospital and resuscitated once again on the way. Since then, she has been in a medically induced coma, but she has had 3 more cardiac arrests, and the family is just hoping and praying for the best. She has had sedation removed, but she is still in a coma, and her health is declining.

I'm just asking for anything you can give to help us as I don't have funds to take care of everything that is to come. Her wish, if she passes, was to have a funeral, which is $10000. Currently, she has a $7500 deductible for her insurance that I need to raise money for. In the possibility that she doesn't make it, I need funds for a funeral, so anything helps. update: With a heavy heart, I want to share that my mother now has swelling on her brain, and the doctors have told us she will not be recovering. We are doing our best to stay strong during this incredibly difficult time, but the emotional and financial weight is overwhelming.
