Support Pedro: Deaf Ice Cream Vendor Recovery After Hit-and-Run

My name is Edith, and I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of my beloved brother, Pedro. On July 4th, Pedro was the victim of a devastating hit-and-run accident. While out operating his ice cream tricycle—something he works incredibly hard at every day—he was violently struck by a driver who immediately fled the scene, leaving him emotionally vulnerable and his specialized tricycle completely destroyed unable to speak to defend himself.
Because Pedro is deaf and non-verbal, navigating the aftermath of this traumatic event presents unique challenges. I am stepping in as his sister to be his voice, ensure his story is heard, and manage this campaign to help him seek justice and recover.
Pedro is a resilient, kind, and hard-working individual who brings joy to our community through his ice cream business. Despite his communication barriers, he has always found ways to connect with people and make an honest living. This tricycle wasn't just a vehicle to him; it was his entire livelihood, his passion, and his independence. Seeing him go through this breaks our family's hearts.
The physical, emotional, and financial toll of this incident is immense, and Pedro faces a long road ahead. We are raising funds to help him get back on his feet. As his sister, I will ensure every dollar raised goes directly toward:
Legal Fees & Seeking Justice: Retaining legal representation, hiring an investigator to help track down the driver, and covering any legal costs to hold the responsible party accountable.
Replacing His Tricycle: Purchasing and customizing a new ice cream tricycle so he can eventually regain his livelihood.
