Yesterday, October 27th 2026, my father-in-law Pedro was detained by ICE while working his landscaping route with his dog Mocha. He was surrounded by 8 ICE vehicles, most unmarked with no license plates. He was pulled out of his truck under the guise of an arrest order.
He was detained and taken to an ICE field office in Sacramento. Family and relatives did everything they could to provide support and obtain as much information as possible as quickly as possible to figure out our next steps to get him out. We received information that he would be having a hearing to determine which detention center he would be sent to, as Sacramento ICE offices do not have the capacity or resources to house people overnight.
This morning we received word that he was transferred overnight to a detention facility in California City.
Pedro is an exceptionally hardworking and headstrong father, brother, and son. He is always able to put a smile on his families face with his silliness. He is extremely dedicated to taking care of all of the people he loves and has been doing so for 27 years in the US.
We are asking for your support in helping fund his legal representation and support the family he was taken from. We deeply appreciate any donation, big or small. All contributions will go directly to help get him out of detention, and to support his wife and sons. If you are unable to donate, please feel free to share this GoFundMe to your friends and family. It means just as much to us. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
