7 months ago Pedro was able to play and run around with our girls, work full time and do anything physically required of him. In July of 2024 we took our girls to the water park in Indiana when he started complaining of a back ache.. not long after that he started having weakness in his left side.. assuming it was a stroke.. we had an mri that came back clear. Some time after that he was unable to use his left arm and dragging his left leg. We went to several drs without answers.. he started having more weakness and pain. We went to his pcp for his blood pressure meds and mentioned all that was going on and how fast it had came on.. she sent us straight to the E.R and was admitted for additional testing. They released him several days later and referred us to the Vandy ALS clinic for additional tests to confirm the diagnosis.. after speaking with Vandy.. Pedro was denied for lack of insurance. We made another appointment with the neurologist and after some more testing and looking over everything.. we were given the confirmation of the ALS diagnosis on 02/10/25. Pedro has went from a hard working, never sitting still, active man to not being able to do anything for himself and using a walker. Although the upcoming medical bills far surpass the amount we are asking for.. currently we need some extra to pay for his medication/our bills from him not working and equipment needed to assist him. The coming months will prove difficult..as we all know how fast this disease progresses. I appreciate any donations or prayers. Thank you.
