With the Holiday Season upon us, we reflect on the work that we do and the people we can impact. In that spirit, I’m excited to announce this year’s company fundraiser for Pediatric Center of Healing, an outstanding organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the mental, emotional, and behavioral well-being of children, on the Henry Ford Hospital, West Bloomfield campus.

As some of you may know, Shaw was the electrical contractor on the Henry Ford West Bloomfield Diagnostic & Treatment project back in 2009. Because of our tie to this campus, and with Shaw being awarded earlier this year, the tower portion of the Henry Ford Destination Grand project, we feel that this is a perfect fit for all of us here at Shaw. One that we all can be proud of! We helped with the structure of the hospital itself – now we can help the tiniest of patients – the children who will be going there for treatment.

Pediatric Center of Healing will be located at the HFH – West Bloomfield. The program will ensure that children coming to any HFH location will be able to get both the best physical pain management help and behavioral health care. The major focus of this project is for children to be better supported in the healthcare setting for trauma, substance abuse, a Mind Body Program and pain management. The Mind Body Program will be a part of the Pediatric Neurogastroenteroly and will concentrate on pain management for chronic pain.

I’m sure we can all understand the incredible difficulty of having a child who needs this support.

And so, in the spirit of giving during this holiday season, I’m asking that each of you please give some consideration to donating to this wonderful project. What greater joy is there in knowing we at Shaw can help put smiles on the faces of the children who will be supported in part through our efforts.
