With heavy hearts, we share the sudden and unimaginable loss of our dear friend, brother, and founder of Pedal Pushers, Dominique Nixon.

On what should have been a joyful Sunday Funday ride — doing what he loved most, building community on two wheels — Dominique suffered unexpected heart failure and, despite every effort to bring him back, he left this world far too soon.

If you knew Dominique, you know the kind of man he was:

✨ A larger-than-life spirit who lit up every room.

✨ A heart of gold who gave without expecting anything in return.

✨ A mentor and motivator to countless at-risk youth, showing them that they, too, belonged on this journey called life.

✨ The founder of Pedal Pushers Cycling Club, changing lives one bike ride at a time.

Dominique gave everything to his community. He lived his life lifting others up — whether it was helping someone fix their first bike, leading rides that built confidence, or simply sharing his beautiful smile and words of encouragement.

But now, we are faced with the difficult reality of giving him the farewell he deserves. Since his passing was so sudden his family and friends are left to carry these unexpected expenses.

This heartbreak is made even heavier it hasn't been a full year since Dominique’s beloved mother passed away. Now his siblings, still grieving her loss, are left to carry the unimaginable burden of laying him to rest without the safety net or access to his financial resources.

Dominique spent his life giving — to his family, to his friends, and to complete strangers who quickly became part of his cycling family. He showed up with a smile, a joke, silly dance, and a heart bigger than life itself.

But now, the very community he uplifted needs to lift him up.
