Support Pearson Family: Cooper’s Seizures
Donation protected
Sunday Dec. 15th, Cooper had his 4th seizure. This seizure required the use of rescue meds to stop the seizure.
Around midnight Sunday Dec 15th, he woke up screaming that his ear hurt. We gave him ibuprofen and laid back down. We were then awaken again at 4am by the same thing. We decided to take the trip to the 24 hour urgent care. Once we arrived at urgent care, we were told we were going to billed as an emergency room visit because they were operating under ER hours currently. We decided to be seen because we drove 30 mins already and it was 4:30am.
Dr at ER stated his ear was impacted with wax. He attempted to clean it out but wasn’t able to. He sent us home with antibiotics. We arrived back home at 7:00am and we all laid back in bed. Around 10:00am, I woke up and just a few minutes later Cooper started seizing. After 3 minutes, we decided to use his rescue medication. In my cases, seizures cause a person to lose control of their bodily functions and unfortunately that happened here. Our mattress is sadly ruined. Luckily, while on the phone with 911, the seizure stopped. EMS arrived and he was very unresponsive so the decision was made to transport him to Peyton Manning.
We stayed at Peyton Manning for a few hours and confirmed he had an ear infection. We will be following up again with his neurologist and pediatrician.
As I am writing this, he’s laying in my arms asleep. We are grateful that Cooper came home with us today. This year is the first year he’s learned about Santa and he cannot wait for Santa to come in 10 days. We are blessed to be able to put presents under the tree but this seizure has really hit our finances hard. 2 ER visits, an ambulance ride and new mattress is going to keep us down for awhile. If you are able to donate, we’d greatly appreciate it.
Merry Christmas to all ❤️
