Pearl is our beloved family pet! My daughter picked her out when she was only 2 years old. Pearl will be 7 in May. Pearl goes on family vacations, car rides, off-leash dog park, and walks well on a leash. She is vibrant, playful, and full of energy. She loves sleeping with my children. She has many friends, both human and canine. She's even friends with our family cat.
About a year ago, we found a tumor on her. It was about 0.5 cm, and the vet said he could remove it, but if it wasn't bothering her, it's probably just a fatty tumor. Recently, it started growing. So, I made another appointment. In the time till we could get in, it ballooned to 2 cm and is very irritated. We saw the vet on Friday. She was prescribed medicine to shrink the tumor, and it needs to be removed. However, they can't get us in until later in March.
Meanwhile, on Friday night, our cat, Soda, had a seizure, and we rushed her to the emergency vet, where she passed. We were just devastated! It was extremely expensive to say good-bye to Soda and with that on top of Pearl's surgery, it is difficult to manage. Pearl is still very spirited. The tumor has not affected her movement or mood. She is able to jump up on the bed and is eager to go for her daily walks. It is just not time to say goodbye to her! Funds are tight, as they are for so many of us these days. If you are able to help us with Pearl's surgery, we would greatly appreciate it.
