Peanut was born in December 2024 and came into our lives this past February. Since then, we've fallen in love with his cheerful, chew toy-obsessed personality. He's brought joy to every part of our lives and treats everyone as a treasured auntie/uncle.
At just eight weeks old, we learned that Peanut has a severe congenital heart murmur at grade 5 out of 6 levels. After four veterinarian visits, it was confirmed that Peanut has Patent Ductus Arteriosis (PDA), a heart defect that severely affects his heart size and the blood flow to his lungs. The vet recommended open-chest surgery as soon as possible due to the advanced nature of Peanut's case. Without the surgery, Peanut would suffer and have less than six months left to live.
Naturally, we want to do everything to save our puppy with this surgery that would essentially give him back a long, healthy life. Unfortunately, our pet insurance considered his condition pre-existing, and has not/will not cover anything related to his PDA (vet check-ups, labs, procedures). The cost of surgery and treatment is estimated to be $9,000. If your circumstances allow you to do so, we would be so grateful for any help towards Peanut's surgery, whether it be donations, prayers, or well-wishes.
Thank you!
