This is a fundraiser to help our beautiful, sweet girl Peanut receive the care she needs and deserves. My sister and I have exhausted every avenue of resources we have, hence why we are asking for help! Peanut deserves a chance to continue living her great and fun quality of life she’s enjoyed for the last 8 years.

Peanut came to us as a dumped dog in our neighborhood 8 years ago on July 4th. She and another Pittie were dumped in our neighborhood. She ended up staying at the neighbors across the street all day! We actually thought she belonged to our neighbors, but later that night, as my nephew was going out, he saw her. He called out to her and she came running to him. Seeing the condition she was in, he placed her in our backyard, gave her food and water, and she rested for the night, safe! The next day, he took her to the vet to see if she was chipped. She was not. We posted about her on Facebook and no one claimed her, so we ended up adopting her. It was the best decision we’ve ever made! She’s not aggressive; she just wanted to be loved and cared for.

For the last 8 years, Peanut has become even more enriched as a family member. While she was a family member from day one, she has become such an important part of our lives!

Peanut currently doesn’t show any signs of slowing down, but her platelets and red blood cell count is very low. We found this out when we took her in for surgery at Animal Hospital of Waco to have a mast removed. It was then we were notified of her low red blood cell and platelet count. We were then referred to Barks and Bliss Veterinary in Temple for further evaluation, and she’s been in their care ever since.

Dr. Brown at Barks and Bliss Veterinary would like for her to be placed on IVs and see if it’ll help bring her counts up, up enough to where they can do a biopsy and see why she has an enlarged spleen. She wants to figure out if it’s cancer or something else, but she cannot perform this procedure if her counts are low. If she were to try, Peanut could bleed to death and we don’t want that. We don’t know what else Peanut would need and we just want to do what’s best to save our little girl. She’s the sweetest girl, loves kids and other animals, even her sister Molly, who can be a pain sometimes lol.

Whatever you can donate, we would be so appreciative. If you’d like to donate directly to the Barks and Bliss Veterinary, here’s their number: [phone redacted] and mention “Peanut Torres donation” on your call. We will make sure she gets the best care possible! Thank you for your generous donation, for thinking of Peanut and helping us help our sweet girl! God bless you!
