- Hello. This is Peanut the French Bulldog. While traveling home from Myrtle Beach, SC to Columbia, MD, she was discovered on Peanut Place Rd in North Carolina. She was smelly, covered in dirt and bugs, and had no identification or collar. Despite my best efforts to find a shelter to take her to, it was after 5 pm and all resources were closed. We stopped at the nearest open vet, and she has no chip. The Bladen County animal shelter has been notified, and FB posts have been made in that area looking for any potential owner.
- Once back in Maryland, we took a trip to the vet for a wound to her right ear. During our initial visit, it was discovered that Peanut has ear infections in both ears, and the initial heartworm test has come back positive. She is slightly underweight. Based on her initial assessment, it is believed she is between 2-4 years old. A second vet visit happened today after Peanut showed signs of a UTI. We have lots of swabs and lab work still pending that will tell us more about how progressed her heartworm is and to indicate any other potential health problems. She has been started on ear drops, a steroid, and an antibiotic.
- Unfortunately, I live alone and work as a nurse, and my long days prevent me from keeping Peanut as my own. She is the sweetest girl. She loves snuggles and being lazy on the couch. But like all Frenchies, she does have her wild side. If you would like to help with Peanut's medical expenses while I try to find her forever home, anything would help. Thank you!
