Hello, my 5-year-old ferret, Peanut, was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer in ferrets called a hemangiosarcoma on his liver, along with Adrenal Disease and a cyst on his kidney. The surgery to remove the liver lobe holding the mass was ~$5k. I decided to do the surgery after I had spent $1.8k on diagnostics already.
Unfortunately, after learning the results of the biopsy, the cancer he has is very aggressive and very likely to come back quickly. With chemo treatment, it’s possible he can live another year, but with no treatment, we’re looking at only a couple months.
I’m paying my student loans and planning to do more schooling in veterinary medicine, so another couple thousand is a real struggle.
I could really use some help in saving my little noodle in hopes I could try chemo with him. I’m struggling financially, but I love my pets more than anything and I want to be able to do everything I can for them. A couple months versus a year is a big difference and I dont want him to suffer.
Thank you. Even $1 makes a difference.
