Support PDX Kickingball: Empowering Venezuelan Migrant Women

Welcome to the PDX Kickingball family!

We are a nonprofit volunteer team dedicated to empowering Venezuelan migrant women through the sport of kickingball. Led by Vanesa Aranguren and Francisco Diaz, Venezuelan physical education teachers, we've come together to create a safe space for these women to thrive physically, mentally, and culturally.

Our Mission:

At PDX Kickingball, our mission is twofold: to improve the mental and physical health of Venezuelan migrant women and to preserve their rich cultural heritage. Through playing and learning the sport of kickingball, we aim to foster a sense of community and belonging for these women in their new home in Oregon.

Our Journey:

Our journey began on May 25th, 2023, with around 30 passionate women eager to make PDX Kickingball one of the best teams in the US. Since then, we've participated in internal friendly games and even competed in the national tournament in Memphis, TN, where we proudly achieved 5th place. Now, we're gearing up for more tournaments to represent Oregon and our migrant community on a larger stage.

Why We Need Your Support:

As a nonprofit team, we rely on the generosity of sponsors to cover essential expenses such as tournament registrations, plane tickets, accommodations, and food. We have an upcoming tournament in Memphis, TN, on June 1st and 2nd, followed by another in Austin, TX, in September. We are seeking donations to kickstart our fundraising efforts any contributions you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
