Help Payson Groff Fight for Her Life

In August of 2024, Payson Groff was diagnosed with AML leukemia. Through many rounds of chemotherapy and incredible strength, she went on to receive a bone marrow transplant in January of 2025. By God’s grace, her family believed they were finally entering a season of healing and hope.

In July of 2025, however, Payson developed graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), a complication from her transplant. GVHD began attacking her lungs and progressed into Bronchiolitis Obliterans Syndrome (BOS), a serious and life-threatening condition. Today, Payson’s lungs are functioning at only 15% of what is normal for someone her age and weight.

Because of this, Payson will need a lung transplant in order to survive.

The road to transplant will be long and incredibly challenging. Payson and her family are traveling to multiple hospitals for evaluations, praying to find a transplant center willing to make exceptions — as Payson has not yet met the standard requirement of being two years cancer-free or GVHD-free. At this time, Payson is traveling to a hospital in Chicago five days a week, trusting God each day for strength, breath, and endurance.

Throughout this journey, Payson’s father, stepmother, and grandparents are faithfully standing by her side. The financial burden is heavy and continues to grow, including:
• Travel and gas for frequent hospital visits
• Food and lodging during extended stays
• Medical equipment and supplies
• Loss of wages from missed work
• Medications and possible experimental treatments not covered by insurance

We know God is the ultimate provider, and we also know He often provides through His people. We are asking for help to ease this financial burden so Payson’s family can focus on caring for her, advocating for her, and walking this road with faith instead of fear.

If you feel led to give, share, or pray, please know that every act of kindness matters. Your support allows this family to continue fighting with hope and trusting God’s plan — even when the path ahead is uncertain.

“For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for Him.”
— Philippians 1:29

Thank you for being part of Payson’s story and for lifting her and her family up in prayer.
