I brought Pax to the US with me this past September after visiting my sister in Algeria. Even before the trip, I knew he would be coming home with me. He was rescued by one of my sister’s colleagues after his mom gave birth to him in her courtyard.
Not long after, Pax began showing symptoms of an upper respiratory infection, and he hasn’t been able to fully shake it for several months. After finding a wonderful vet here in DC who explored every option to help him, we were referred to a specialist. To finally determine the underlying issue, Pax will need a CT scan and a rhinoscopy. During this procedure, the specialists hope not only to identify the cause, but also to treat it. Our vets believe that once we get to the root of the problem, Pax can go on to live a long, healthy life.
Through all of this, Pax’s spirit has never wavered. Despite chronic congestion and getting winded easily, he remains as loving and resilient as ever. He came into my life right when I needed a companion the most, offering me the unconditional love only a furry friend can give.
It’s been a long journey for him, but he’s strong. Unfortunately, I’ve stretched my financial resources as far as I can, and I’m unable to cover the entire procedure on my own of $5,600. Please consider helping me give Pax what he has given me, a new lease on life.
