My brother Paul, who is in the ICU, is fighting for his life in the hospital after his housing complex became engulfed in flames. On Thursday, July 11th, 2024 at 7:45 am, the Atlantic City Fire Department received a call for a massive fire that started on the 3rd or 4th floor of 28 S. Georgia Ave in Atlantic City, NJ. Paul, who was on the 4th floor, was unable to escape down the stairs due to the blazing fire around him and he climbed out the 4th story window in an attempt to get out. He fell four stories, landing on a cement sidewalk. My brother immediately lost consciousness. Paul broke his face including his jaw in three places, suffered a concussion, and has a broken eye socket. His pelvic bone is broken in two places. In addition, he broke his hands, arms, fingers, leg, foot, femur, tailbone, and a few ribs. All of his teeth are shattered and broken.

He is the one seen falling from the housing complex while it was on fire on his floor. This video has been shared and posted by all the local news stations, as well as in the newspapers. Here is the article https://breakingac.com/news/2024/jul/11/atlantic-city-fire-displace/

Paul has had multiple surgeries already including on his forearm and his hand as well as splints inserted in his fingers so that his bones heal correctly. He has a chest tube and was on a ventilator with a breathing tube. Paul’s jaw is wired shut so that he can have surgery to put his jaw back in place. Multiple surgeries are required since his jaw is broken in three places.

It is a miracle that he is alive in critical stable condition, and we are so thankful for that. This tragedy has caused my brother to suffer multiple broken bones and fractures all over his body, which is an immense amount of pain. He escaped from the window to save his life, and for that, he is brave and noble. He is a strong man and is in need of all the financial support to keep fighting since he will not be able to work for some time. Paul will be put under anesthesia tomorrow for additional surgeries. He will need rehabilitation and therapy (speech, PT/OT) which will be ongoing as well as in-home care. We have been by Paul’s side every waking hour of the day to uplift him during this difficult time. But his full recovery could take several months or even years.

We are asking that you please donate to support Paul’s financial road to recovery. All money received will go towards supporting Paul financially throughout this tragic event. He needs money for his medical bills, procedures, medical equipment, new apartment/house, furniture, clothes, cell phone, etc., since he lost EVERYTHING in that fire.

Please donate whatever is on your heart and/or share this post.

Thank you all for your support! I will keep you updated on Paul’s progress.
