Support Paul's Recovery after Life-Changing Accident
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
Paul is more than just a work mate and colleague to me so I'm reaching out to the Singleton and Hi-Fi communities to rally around someone many of you know and respect. . .
On May 14th, Paul was in a serious motorcycle accident on his way home from work. He was taken to hospital by ambulance in critical condition and placed in an induced coma. His injuries were extensive and life-changing, something none of us ever expect to happen to someone so close.
Here's just some of what Paul's been through:
▪️ Open fractures to his right leg (tibia, fibula, and femur)
▪️ A fractured hip socket
▪️ Broken ribs and flail chest
▪️ Internal bleeding and spleen injuries
▪️ Fractures to both wrists
▪️ Major soft tissue damage, open wounds, and gravel rash
▪️ Significant blood loss requiring transfusions
▪️ Multiple surgeries — including major leg surgery just completed this week to convert external fixation to internal
▪️ Ongoing recovery with more procedures still ahead
Paul spent over 20 years at Singleton Hi-Fi, and if you know Paul, you know he's not just a hard worker, he’s a character. Always up for a laugh, having a bit of fun, and quick to find the funny side of any situation. He’s the kind of bloke who could brighten your day with just one funny line, and even now, he still manages to do exactly that.
Right now, Paul and his wife Karina are focusing on his recovery, and like anyone in this situation, there are a lot of unexpected costs along the way. Karina has taken time off work to support Paul through surgery, rehab, and everything in between, though how long she'll need to be off is still uncertain.
This GoFundMe is just to help lighten the load during a really challenging time:
▪️ Travel, parking, and hospital expenses
▪️ Rehab appointments and specialist care
▪️ Equipment or support needed at home during recovery
▪️ Day-to-day costs that come with long hospital stays
There's absolutely no pressure, but if Paul's ever made you laugh, helped you out, or left a mark in the community, now's a great time to show him some love. There’s no $ goal but every bit helps, and even just sharing this means a lot.
Thanks so much,
Evette, on behalf of Paul, wife Karina, & daughters.
